Boruto, The Anime Movie Our Nostalgia Craves
The journey and adventures of our beloved Naruto and his friends in the hidden village Konohagakure, has spanned over 15 years, encompassed over 700 chapters, and produced one of the most popular anime series in history! Ever since the Naruto series came to an end, we forlorn fans, were forced to bid farewell to an icon that has been as much a part of our lives as our own friends. Simply said, we weren’t ready to say goodbye!
Earlier this year, creator of the series Masashi Kishimoto blessed us with an anime movie that was supposed to help us bring closure to the final pieces of the movie. The Last: Naruto The Movie tells of the happenings between manga chapters 699 and 700, and finally revealed once again Naruto and Hinata married with children. At the ending of the feature film, it was teased that a next anime movie will be released and it is finally official! Your favourite film distributor GSC Movies brings to you the next anime movie of the Naruto series, Boruto: Naruto The Movie, set for release this 5th November!

The new feature film is set not so far in the future where Naruto has succeeded Kakashi as the seventh Hokage. The Chuunin Selections Exams are coming up, and this time it is the new generation’s turn to exhibit their strength. Among the examinees are Sasuke and Sakura’s daughter, Sarada; the superior young shinobi Mistuski, who is as mysterious as he is talented; and Boruto , who too holds great talent and calls Naruto a lousy father. As the new Hokage of the village, Naruto barely has time to spend with his family and is resented by the lonely Boruto. Eager to surpass the father he dislikes so much, Boruto seeks apprenticeship from none other than his father’s only rival, Sasuke! Are you enticed at how the adventures of Boruto will unfold yet? We certainly are!

Boruto: Naruto The Movie opened in Japan on August 7th to a staggering $5.46 million box office earnings within three days, beating out not only the series’ previous feature films but many other Japanese movies as well! Hearing the success in Japan, we certainly can’t wait to see it for ourselves and will continue to pray for a new standalone series for Boruto. A cultural touchstone the likes of Naruto will forever have place in our hearts that we’re never ready to see conclude.
In conjunction with the release of Boruto: Naruto The Movie, we are holding a premiere screening this 30th October, 6.30pm at GSC Mid Valley! We cordially invite you to join us in our shinobi themed movie screening so come dressed as your favourite Naruto character and take part in our costume competition. Together we shall attempt to get into the Malaysia Book of Records for the most Naruto cosplayers at a movie screening! For more information on how to join, click here!
